coating thickness gauges

Coating thickness gauge is a kind of coating thickness gauge that can measure the thickness of coatings, paints and coatings quickly, without damage, and with high precision. Before understanding the coating thickness gauge standard, we need to know its principle of coating thickness gauge. Coating thickness gauges are mainly divided into two measurement methods, one is magnetic (Hall effect), the other is eddy current effect, and the instrument can be single magnetic, single eddy current, or integrated with magnetic eddy current. And each measurement method has its corresponding standard.

GB/T4956─1985 Magnetic method for measuring the thickness of non-magnetic covering layer on magnetic metal substrate:

This standard specifies a method for non-destructively measuring the thickness of non-magnetic (including glaze and enamel) coatings on magnetic metal substrates using magnetic thickness measuring instruments. This method is suitable for measurement on flat samples. It is not suitable for the measurement of covering layers on non-magnetic substrates. This standard is equivalent to the international standard ISO 2178-1982 ((Magnetic Method for the Thickness of Non-magnetic Covering Layer on Magnetic Metal Substrate".

JJG889─1995 "Magnetic resistance method thickness gauge":

This regulation is applicable to the verification of magnetoresistance thickness gauges newly manufactured, in use and after maintenance.

JJG818─93 "Eddy Current Thickness Gauge":

This regulation applies to the verification of eddy current thickness gauges newly manufactured, in use and after maintenance.

GB/T4957─1985 Non-conductive coating thickness measurement method on non-magnetic metal substrate: Eddy current method:

This standard specifies a method for non-destructive measurement of the thickness of the non-conductive coating on the most non-magnetic metal substrate using eddy current instruments. This method is suitable for the thickness of most anodized coatings on the side, but it is not suitable for measuring the thinnest conversion film. This standard is equivalent to the international standard ISO 2360-1982 "Eddy current measurement method for the thickness of non-conductive coating on non-magnetic metal substrates".
